I am a Hot 26&2 (aka Bikram) yoga instructor and I am very passionate about the tremendous healing benefits of the practice.

The 26&2 is a deeply transformational, therapeutic experience, great for beginners and advanced practitioners alike.
The sequence works the entire body and leaves you feeling refreshed and energised. It is practised in a room heated to 40C with 40% humidity which brings significant benefits by allowing for more effective muscle relaxation and blood circulation, enabling deeper, more fluid stretching and also minimising risk of injury.
We do the same 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises twice in each 90-minute class (in the 60-minute class some postures are done only once). But don’t be fooled, the classes are never the same, and neither are the postures or your experience of them.
When practising at home, during times such as the ones we find ourselves in currently, we may not have access to the same heat and humidity as we do in the hot room. Fear not, it is a great opportunity for us to learn a little more, in a different way, about ourselves and our practice. Approach your home practice conservatively, become more in tune with your body, your breath, and your stillness. This is a good opportunity to take your practice somewhere new.
What will you learn?
And how will you carry that with you when you head back to the hot room?
“Your classes have been a saving grace in a very lonely and confusing time for me, and your instructional style made it easy for me as a complete novice to get the input I needed to see quick improvements, even over Zoom. You are firm, but kind, and I always feel grateful and focussed after class. Thank you! :)”

Since the effects of my injuries are in constant ebb and flow, my practice changes constantly. Some days I struggle with strength, flexibility and depth, but on others I’m able to achieve a fuller expression more comfortably. I find this really helps me to teach with compassion and I love how it keeps me deeply connected with my body.
I can start class confidently thinking “I’m gonna boss this one today” and find myself falling all over the place. Equally, there are times that I want to hide in a dark corner knowing it’s about to be very messy and BOOM, my alignment is great, my focus superb and I’m holding Standing Head to Knee. Who knew?
Yoga did. That’s who.
I am most interested in finding stillness, focus, and attention to detail in my practice as it is in the stillness that we learn the most about ourselves. The stillness and focus we achieve in the hot room (when we can be unbothered by the sweat, the heat, the teacher’s voice) helps us face life’s vicissitudes with equanimity and grace outside the room.
Of course, it’s easier said than done. And every single class is different. The most we can expect of ourselves, ever, when stepping into the studio is to meet ourselves with the body we brought into class at that time, on that day. It was different this morning, it’ll be different again tomorrow.
“I thoroughly enjoy your online classes Claire!!
There is something so beautiful about the way that you narrate that I hear each pose in a new light every session, improving my practice.”

I endeavour to provide a safe and encouraging environment so that fellow yogis feel supported in their healing and development.
I am delighted and privileged to share this wonderfully healing practice with others.
I look forward to seeing you on the mat soon, on the other side of the Zoom screen :)
